1,200 families turn adversity into environmental action

Deforestation has long been seen as the last resort for local communities seeking to secure their livelihoods. However, a groundbreaking solution has emerged in the form of generating carbon credits through forest conservation, providing communities with a sustainable alternative while enhancing their quality of life.

Our REDD+ Sur del Meta “Bosques de Paz, Sustento de Vida” project stands as a testament to the effectiveness of this approach, with 77,000 hectares of forest protected and 1,200 families reaping the benefits.

Discover how this innovative initiative not only safeguards forests but also empowers communities to finance alternative productive activities, fostering economic growth and improving overall well-being.

Join Alexis L. Leroy as he sheds light on the transformative power of forest conservation in this dialogue with NTN24.
